I'm an old D&D gamer who remembers the days of Chainmail and Pegasus. Sombalance is the name of the second character I've ever played and it has been with me ever since. A friend got me started in mudding on Aalynor's Nexus when it first opened. I stayed there for about six months or so before moving on. For a few years I was a builder on The Crimson Covenant headed by Patrobas. At some point I became a player on The Inquistion which was helmed by Tamara and Robbert. That game completely changed my expectations about what a mud could be. Next, I decided to start my own mud, Untamed Lands. You never realize how much time it really takes to manage a mud until you lose your mind and try to do one yourself. Fortunately, I had a fantastic group of people to help out, but unfortunately, I couldn't commit to the time that was needed and I finally closed her down. I thought I was through with mudding at that point until Darius (one of the main guys at The Burning Post) dragged me back into gaming. So now I write code (which is based on INQ 2.5) and help out where I can. They have made returning to online games fun - which is what it should be. |
