I wrote this for my aunt when she died. It was her birthday the day that she passed away, the day after I graduated HS.

How we were~

We cried bloody tears
to run down
pale
stricken
cheeks - as if
the stains
could ever add
that life
the look
on an undead
face
We danced
in sin
for the fun
of being wrong
catching hold
of a mid-summers
day
We cursed it all
so right and pure
forever tainted
by our
bitter-sweet love
We cherished imperfect lives
that left a
mark
of love sick
rhymes
and foolish games
We held it still
leaving
more behind
then we could
ever tell
She died that day
i tried to say
i miss the
we
the we were
and the
i love yous
of a life forgotten,
a life left
in part
to the dead
But all that came
were bloody tears
to streak my cheek
and hope to add
the color of
an undead face
