After having browsed some profiles and tried to set up my own, here are a couple of thoughts: Since one of the objects of this project is for the posters to get to know each other a bit better, the Profiles are naturally a very good idea.
However;
The heading 'Notable Projects:' sounds a bit pretentious to me, and I noticed that I am not quite alone in that. Also there seems to be some ambiguity about how the Bio part should be used. Is it for your Mud Community achievements, or for the RL, or both? Here is a suggestion that might deal with both issues.
Instead of 'Notable Projects:' and 'Bio' there could be two sectors, one for your Mud Life and one for Real Life.
In the Mud Life part you'd put 'communal' achievements, (like released codebases, snippets, repositories, articles etc.), personal status (Implementor, coder, builder, webdesigner etc.), Codebase and Mud Type preferences (DIKU/Merc/Circle/custom, etc. resp. RP, PK, H'n'S, exploring/questing).
And in the Real Life part you’d put main interests and any other parts of your RL background that you think could be of interest and want to share.

Is the text engine really this primitive?
I certainly didn't write the above in one paragraph, it somehow got formatted like that when I hit the submit button.
This is going to make all entries really hard to read, unless there is a way around the problem that I am too stupid to get.
And is there no way to edit the entry?

My comment came out formatted the way I wrote it, whereas the main text that was turned into one long paragraph. Yet I wrote both these text in exactly the same way...
Any explanations to this?
Noticed that as well

It seems that the original post it crushes carriage returns.. actually, viewing the source of the page, it looks like it just doesn't do anything to 'html' the returns, so they're there. But HTML doesn't do squat with returns unless you type in a or OR the section is
formatted. So... they're there, but not being seen.

Rofl, forgot we can type html directly in. That mean to say unless you type in a or a or a < preformatted > tag.

Holy cow, eventually I'll get one that doesn't actually WORK in the code rofl. A break call, a end paragraph call or a preformatted tag will break etc. Bah, you all know this stuff anyway rofl.
Ok

Added code to htmlify linebreaks.
I don't think substantial changes like these suggested fr he profile are going to make it in before this thing launches (today is likely), will have to keep an eye on how people use their profiles and see if they need prodding in one direction or not. I can reword the Noteable Projects field to something more generic like 'Projects I am Involved With' if you think that'd help...

Ahh no, you're going to let other people in Andy? Hehe, I kinda liked having the playground empty and open.

Right - now the 'Projects' sector in the Profile is doing the same format shit, blurting everything out in one paragraph, however many returns I type in there.
I notice that I'm not alone having this problem, so can something be done about it, please?
Ok, should be better now
